Oceanside
Approximate Location Boundaries: Borders the North West section of San Diego County
Location Characteristics: Oceanside is located in the North West portion of San Diego County. There are many beach/coastal communities as well as inland communities that are minutes to the coast. Oceanside borders Camp Pendleton and therefore has a lot of military influence. There has been a lot of redevelopment occuring in the North Coastal portion of Oceanside so you can find brand new row homes/town homes within blocks from the beach. There are also some newer communities including a public golf course located in the Northly portion of Oceanside.

Carlsbad
Approximate Location Boundaries: West end of North San Diego County just South of Oceanside
Location Characteristics: Carlsbad is a lovely city near the beach. Carlsbad mostly consists of consistant planned communities, although there are some areas such as Olde Carlsbad that are varied in the lots sizes, home size, and home ages. You have a great chance to catch an ocean view from Carlsbad and there are some communities in Carlsbad that are walking distance to the beach. Carlsbad is also conveniently located near I5, the main freeway to Los Angeles and downtown San Diego.

Vista
Approximate Location Boundaries: North portion of San Diego County primarily located between Oceanside and San Marcos, only 10-20 minutes from the Coast.
Location Characteristics: Vista borders the east side of Oceanside. Vista has many hills which offers ocean views and offers some the best weather in the US. Vista has both planned communities and more varied communities. The primary planned community is called Shadowridge. Shadowridge is a very consistent community and includes the Shadowridge Country Club, parks, great schools, and sidewalks for running or walking. The other side of Vista offers more of a rurual feel, yet is city close. You can get a lot more land here in Vista compared to other cities such as Carlsbad. If you want a bit more space between you and your neighbor and don't want a cookie cutter home then Vista offer a wide selection of lower to higher end homes to choose from.
