Oceanside, Vista and Carlsbad Weather We experience a whole different set of the four seasons here in San Diego! Winter usually provides the clearest days of the year because of the lack of marine layer. This enables you to take advantage of ocean views all the way from some of Vista's foothills. It is quite commen to have 80 degree weather during the holidays. Carlsbad offers a great boardwalk for walking and taking advantage of the warm, clear days. Of course it's not always above 70 degrees in the winter. If a North West storm blows through it can get a little nippy with temperatures around 40 degrees at night. On rare occasions, you might even see the temperature drop below freezing. Spring is when we typically get most of the rain, although the typical rainfall for San Diego is around 9 inches. You will see spring time flowers popping up, especially at the Carlsbad Flower Fields. The Carlsbad Flower Fields are located off Palomar Airport Rd and attract thousands of visitors each year that come to enjoy the Renunculas that are grown in bold rows of color. Spring has mild temperatures and a bit more marine layer which causes early morning and late afternoon overcast, but generally is clear and sunny during the day. The Summer is everything you imagine a Summer would be like in San Diego. Nice and warm temperatures (but not too hot) and clear sunny days. The beach is the place to be during the summer whether you are sitting in the sun reading a book, surfing, walking on the boardwalk, or going for a run. In June you might still see some early morning and late afternoon clouds (commonly known as June Gloom), but you know July is right around the corner and you can expect sunny, warm days for at least three months. Fall provides moderate temperatures, but seems to cool a bit more in the evening. There are some decidous trees here in San Diego so you dont' miss out on seeing the falling leaves (hopefully not in your own yard). A trip to the local mountains of Julian helps brings you even closer to the Fall experience. The stores are generally more of a reminder that Fall is hear, however, because you will start to see them start stocking up for the holiday shopping. Bargain Properties >A Home With a History
A colorful history can add significantly to the value of a home. Researching the provenance of a property you are interested in buying can be both interesting and ultimately profitable. The market value of a home will be greater if it was designed by a notable architect, built by a company with a reputation for the finest construction, or lived in by a celebrity who hosted famous guests.
Ask your real estate agent if there is any historical data of significance associated with the home, or if previous owners were VIPs. Note the names associated with the deed and title to the home, and look them up with the help of the local historical society. Consult the microfiche in newspaper archives for references to colorful details of the home's past. The county assessor's office may have records of the date the home was built, and building permits may reveal the name of the architect. When inspecting the home, search closets and attics carefully for hidden historical "treasures".
Buying an older home at a bargain price, then re-selling when it is renovated and restored can be an enjoyable and lucrative adventure.
